In the revision of widely-used SALEFORM 1993, a series of industry consultations had taken place in Oslo, London and Singapore which drew large numbers of participants and an equally large number of useful comments and suggestions. SALEFORM 2012 reflects what the industry needed for a new edition of international contract for the sale and purchase of vessels. It is a modest revision, but it incorporates many of the amendments commonly made to the form when used. As such, it provides an up to date contract for the industry, bringing greater clarity to those provisions in the 1993 edition which occasionally led to uncertainty.
This is a unique opportunity for anybody with an interest in Sale & Purchase to meet and interact with the members of the BIMCO sub-committee involved in the project of SALEFORM 2012. Together with Philip Yang, the Vice Chairman of BIMCO documentary Committee as well as Søren Larsen, BIMCO’s Deputy Secretary General, they will gather in Shanghai to present the document, answer questions from the audience on the revisions done and give feedback. Participants will receive the comprehensive publication “Explanatory Notes SALEFORM 2012” accompanying the comparison with SALEFORM 1993.
